While Winton residents will head to the State Election Polls like the rest of us on November 25th, a week before hand they’ll be voting in a new Mayor.
Four candidates will stand for the position, 3 of whom are sitting Councillors.
They include former Deputy Mayor Shane “Boo” Mann, who heads the council’s powerful finance and governance portfolio; fellow councillors Travis Harbour, who has had the responsibility of the health, environment and planning portfolio; Gavin Baskett who headed community, culture and lifestyle portfolios and who is a well-known Central West rugby league referee.
Debbie Nichols is the only Mayoral candidate who is not a sitting Councillor.
Ms Nichols runs the Winton Butchery with husband Jeff and is an organiser of the local Light Horse Beersheba re-enactment.
The ballot for the by-election was drawn on Tuesday:
The full draw:
1. Travis Harbour
2. Shane Mann
